Tai Chi Class
For Seniors
Looking for an exercise that improves strength, balance, and helps reduce stress? Join us at Parker Memorial Library for Tai Chi classes with Nikki Smith of Big Five Community Services. Classes are offered every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:30 PM starting Tuesday, August 5th, and will go through Thursday, September 25th. This class is designed for seniors ages 60 and up. To pre-register, call Nikki or Raynie with Big Five at (580) 924-5331.
Between Bites Book Club
For Adults
Join Parker Memorial Library for the next Between Bites Book Club on Wednesday, August 13th at 12:00 PM. This club is a laid-back lunch-hour book club where good stories and great conversations come together. This month's book selection is “The Orphan Collector” by Marie Wiseman. Bring your own lunch and let’s chat while we chew!
Audio Book Club
For Adults
Join Parker Memorial Library for a special Hoopla “Audio Book Club” on Thursday, August 14th at 5:30 PM. Adult patrons have a chance to enjoy an enriching, entertaining form of storytelling together using Hoopla, a digital service platform with the Southern Oklahoma Library System (SOLS). This special audio book club will be discussing “Nine Perfect Strangers” by Liane Moriarty along with enjoying refreshments provided by the library.
Toddler Time
For Ages 3 Years and Younger
Looking for the perfect activity for your young child? Beginning at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 2nd, Parker Memorial Library will be hosting Toddler for children ages 3 and younger. Children and their families will sing songs, listen to a story and do a fun craft. Older siblings are welcome to join in the fun! This activity will continue weekly until Tuesday, December 16. Rag Wreath Craft Class
For Teens and Adults
Time to get crafty at Parker Memorial Library! Join us at 6:00 PM on Monday, September 8th, for a rag wreath craft class. Attendees will create a colorful wreath made with strips of fabric. Teens and adults are welcome to attend. Call to sign up.
"Booked on a Thursday" Book Club
For Adults
Join Parker Memorial Library for “Booked on a Thursday” Book Club at 5:30 PM on Thursday, September 11th. Conversation, fellowship, and refreshments will be centered on popular book titles for adults to discuss. This month's book selection is “Lessons in Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus. Refreshments will be provided by the library.
