Beverly E. Thorn, Ph.D., is the author of hundreds of articles, two books, and four workbooks on coping with chronic illness. Thorn spent decades as a faculty member at The Ohio State University and The University of Alabama, where she went on to serve as director of the clinical psychology Ph.D. program and department chair in psychology. Currently professor emerita, Thorn is also an end-of-life doula and continues to publish, speak, and conduct workshops nationally and internationally on managing chronic illness.

This lecture is part of our “Age Well” series, designed to provide valuable insights, expert guidance, and practical tools for navigating the aging journey with confidence. These programs explore key topics related to aging, from health and wellness to planning for the future, offering meaningful perspectives and resources for older adults and caregivers alike.

Champion Public Library is offering this program as part of a health literacy grant from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL). The program is funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
