Directions

To get to the Atoka County Library, on Hwy 69/75 turn east one block north of the stop light at Court Street. Continue East 1-1/2 blocks. The library is located on the north side in the middle of the block.

Winter Reading Challenge ACL Flyer 2024

Winter Reading Challenge

For Kids, Teens & Adults
From December 1st to January 31st, Atoka County Library will host a reading challenge for children, teens, and adults using the Reader Zone app. Participants in each age group will log their reading minutes through the app, and upon reaching their goal, they will be entered to win exciting prizes. The winners will be drawn at the end of January.

Kik It Up into the Kitchen

For Ages 6 - 8 & 9 - 12
Do your children like making snacks in the kitchen? Want to inspire them to prepare and eat nutritious snacks? Join Atoka County Library every Friday from January 3rd through February 14th, with Madison Sam of the OSU extension who will present “Kik It Up: Encouraging Children to jump into the Kitchen”. Participants ages 6 – 12 will learn about exercise and how to cook healthy snacks. This 45-minute program encompasses 7 lessons. Children ages 6 – 9 will be from 12:00 – 1:00 PM and ages 10 – 12 will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Call to sign up.

For Adults and Seniors
Looking for an exercise that improves strength, balance, and helps reduce stress? The Atoka County Library is offering Tai Chi classes for adults and seniors. With Michael Maxwell of the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative, classes will be offered every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 PM starting January 14th and will go through February 25th. Join us for some chilly chemistry at the Atoka County Library! We invite you to a fun STEM program on Thursday, January 30th, at 4:30 PM, where you will learn how to make winter freeze (slushy) in a bag. Kids are encouraged to wear winter mittens! Call to sign up.

Teen Cuisine Cooking Classes

For Teens in Grades 6 - 12
Join the Atoka County Library for the "Teen Cuisine" cooking program, hosted by Madison Sam of the OSU extension. The program will take place on Fridays at 1:00 PM, from February 21 – March 28. This hour-long program will consist of six lessons, each designed to teach young participants essential skills such as nutrition, food preparation, food safety, cooking, and physical activity. Teens will learn how to prepare meals and snacks and develop healthy eating habits. Call to sign up.
Storytime with Ms. Walker ACL 2025

For Ages 0 - 10
Looking for a fun activity to participate in with your child? Join Atoka County Library starting Saturday, February 22nd for Storytime with Ms. Walker. This program will occur monthly every third Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Ms. Walker will read from a book for children. Families are welcome to join in the fun.
