Between Bites Book Club – Parker Memorial Library

July 8, 2025

Join Parker Memorial Library on Wednesday, July 9th at 12:00 PM for the continuation of Between Bites Book Club. This club is a laid-back lunch hour book club where good stories and great conversations come together for adults ages 18 and up. This month’s book selection is “Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers” by Jesse Q. Sutanto. Bring your own lunch and let’s chat while we chew!

Vera Wong is a lonely elderly woman living above her tea shop in San Francisco’s Chinatown. She enjoys sipping Wulong tea and keeping tabs on her Gen-Z son online. One morning, she discovers a dead man in her shop with a flash drive in his hand. After calling the police, she swipes the flash drive, believing she can solve the mystery better than they can. As she observes her customers, she unexpectedly forms friendships with them but faces a tough choice when it comes to protecting one of her newfound friends from the law.

This Summer Reading Program is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.

Participants are encouraged to check out the book by visiting the Parker Memorial Library at 500 West Broadway in Sulphur. You can also call the library at (580) 634-2315 for more information. The Parker Memorial Library is a branch of the Southern Oklahoma Library System.
