Join others at the Davis Public Library’s book club on Tuesday, June 24th at 5:30 PM. Conversation, fellowship, and refreshments will be centered on popular book titles for adults to discuss. This month’s book, “Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping (on a Dead Man)” by Jesse Q. Sutanto will be featured.
Ever since a man was found dead in Vera’s teahouse, life has been good for her. Her shop is bustling, and her son Tilly is dating Officer Selena Gray, whom Vera had previously harassed during the murder investigation. Although Vera feels a bit bored and wishes for more excitement, her world shifts when she meets a distressed young woman searching for her missing friend.
While cat-sitting at Tilly and Selena’s place, Vera discovers a briefcase belonging to Selena that contains a file on the mysterious death of social media influencer Xander Lin, who was found in Mission Bay. With the police unable to identify him, Vera is determined to solve the case—especially since it will impress Selena, her future daughter-in-law.
