Join others at the Davis Public Library’s book club on Tuesday, April 22nd at 6:00 PM. Conversation, fellowship, and refreshments will be centered on popular book titles for adults to discuss. This month’s book, “Weyward” by Emilia Hart will be featured.
In “Weyward”, Kate flees to Weyward Cottage, inherited from a great aunt she barely remembers, escaping an abusive partner. As she settles in, she suspects her aunt harbored a secret tied to the witch-hunts of the 17th century. In 1619, Altha awaits trial for a murder she didn’t commit. Trained in a natural form of magic by her mother, she knows she must harness her knowledge to fight for her freedom against witchcraft accusations. In 1942, Violet feels trapped in her family’s crumbling estate, yearning for the education denied to her as a girl. She clings to memories of her deceased mother and the word “wayward” etched into her bedroom floor.
Participants are encouraged to check out the book by visiting the Davis Public Library at 209 East Benton in Davis or call (580) 369-2468. The Davis Public Library is a branch of the Southern Oklahoma Library System.
