Chair Yoga – Champion Public Library

You can improve your movement in the new year! Join Champion Public Library at the HFV Wilson Community Center, 625 E Main St. in Ardmore for an 8-week Chair Yoga class. With instructor Mae Woodward, guests will learn yoga movements they can do at home and are beneficial for those knee or hip issues. This class will take place at 2:00 PM, Wednesdays, starting February 5th, and will go through March 26th. No special equipment is required but wearing comfortable clothing and shoes is ideal. Participants are encouraged to register early by calling Champion Public Library at (580) 223-3164 or call the HFV Wilson Community Center at (580) 223-0136.

Chair yoga introduces stretches that can help with joint pain relief, encourage relaxation, increase flexibility plus improve circulation, and combat depression and anxiety. All exercises shown in this class are done while standing beside or sitting in a chair.

Champion Public Library is offering this program as part of a health literacy grant from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL). The program is funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
