Internet Safety at MSC – Johnston County Library

Join Johnston County Library on Thursday, July 25th at 6:30 PM to learn about internet safety with Officer Ashley Hanks and Chief Shannon Smith from the Tishomingo Police Department. Parents, guardians, and community members ages 18 and up are welcome to attend. This program will be held at the AG Science Auditorium located at Murray State College, 1 Murray Campus Dr in Tishomingo, OK, and is free and open to the public.

This 2-hour presentation will cover topics like current online risk and tactics used by online predators, different types of online exploitation used by predators, high-risk social media platforms commonly used by online predators, tips to safeguard children from online exploitation, and resources for reporting online exploitation.

This program is part of the Summer Reading Program (SRP) and is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.
