When nineteen-year-old hunter Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a frightening creature shows up to demand payback. Taken to a dangerous magical land she only knows from old stories, Feyre learns that her captor is not really a monster, but one of the deadly, never-aging faeries who once ruled her world. At least, he is not a monster all the time. As she gets used to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, change from cold dislike to a strong love that makes her question everything she thought she knew about the beautiful but dangerous world of the Fae. But something is wrong in the faerie lands. An old, evil force is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or Tamlin and his world will be lost forever.
