Superheroes unite at the next Teen Anime & Manga Book Club at Champion Public Library! On Thursday, July 31st at 5:30 PM, the library will see what it takes to become a hero with “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, Vol. 1” by Hideyuki Furuhashi. After our discussion, teens aged 13 – 17 will have a chance to play a round of Anime Character Bingo along with snacks provided by the library. Signing up is encouraged.
In a society filled with superpowers, evil has become anything but ordinary. Licensed heroes protect the public from supervillains, but not everyone can be a hero. Some choose to fight for justice in the shadows, known as vigilantes. Koichi Haimawari, unable to become an official hero, uses his modest Quirk to help others in his spare time. A chance encounter with local thugs leads him to join forces with two unlikely companions. Together, they bravely attempt to combat evil, only to realize that fighting it requires more than just courage.
The Summer Reading Program is also supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.
