What is LIHEAP? The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federal program that provides financial assistance to income-eligible Oklahoma households to help them afford home energy. The Energy Crisis Assistance Program (ECAP) is also available for an energy crisis in a household.

What do you need to apply for LIHEAP? Applicants will need to bring proof of identity such as a Driver’s License, Birth Certificate, check stub, or U.S. Passport. Applicants will also need to bring proof of income such as check stubs for the last 30 days that show your name or Social Security number, date of pay, and income before deductions; statement from your employer; or copy of last year’s tax return only if self-employed or immigration status if you are not a U.S. Citizen. For ECAP, applicants will need to bring a utility notice. For more information, visit okdhslive.org.

The Digital Navigation program is made possible through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL) and the Oklahoma Department of Human Resources (DHS).

This program is part of the Summer Reading Program (SRP) and is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.
