Garden Basics: Set up and Care
For All Ages
Want to get into gardening but don’t know where to start? Join Love County Library on Thursday, April 18th at 6:00 PM to learn the basics on how to set up and care for your garden. Lauren Minyard of the OSU extension service will teach guests what to plant in the spring and regular maintenance such as watering, fertilizer, and pest control.
Medicare Education Class
For Ages 18 and Up
Are you interested in learning more about Medicare? The Love County Library is hosting an educational program that can help you understand the ins and outs of this important healthcare program on Wednesday, April 24th at 4:00 PM with presenter Anishalin Helms. This program is designed to be informative, helpful, and easy to understand. Attendees will learn about the different parts of Medicare, how to enroll, and what benefits are available to you. Whether you're new to Medicare or have been enrolled for years, this program is a great way to get the information you need. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn more about Medicare and how it can benefit you.
Health Check Program
For Ages 18 and Up
Join the Love County Library and the Love County Health Department on Tuesday, April 30th at 1:00 PM for a health check program. The Health Department will provide a biometric scale to measure your body's overall health and discuss the early signs of diabetes as well as ways to prevent it. Call to sign up.
Book Club
With Author Emily Habeck via Zoom
Join the Love County Library for their monthly book club on Tuesday, May 28th at 6:00 PM. Light refreshments will be provided and spirited discussion encouraged. This month’s book will be Emily Habeck’s “Shark Heart: A Love Story”. Author Emily Habeck will be attending this program via Zoom for Q&A and discussion. For ages 18 and up.
Raising Readers Storytime
For Kids 4 Years and Younger
Join Love County Library for the new Raising Readers Storytime! The Love County Library will host a Storytime on the first Saturday of each month at 1:00 PM. This series of Storytimes will introduce children four years and younger to the experience of stories read aloud, teaching them language, literacy skills, friendship, taking turns, and how to pay attention to help prepare them for school readiness while having fun.
3D Printing Classes
For All Ages
Ever wondered how 3D printing works? Want to see it in action? Come learn the basics of 3D printing with the library’s new 3D printer at the Love County Library every third Saturday of each month during library hours. This program is for all ages, but registration is required.
Community Garden
Coming Soon
The Love County Library will be starting a community garden and providing programming on various topics. Topics include seed starting, what and when to plant by season, raised beds vs. in-ground gardening, cooking demos, and food preservation. These programs will be helmed by the OSU extension office, local master gardeners, and the health department. Beginning, advanced, and young gardeners ages 12 and up are welcome to help cultivate and learn from this community garden. For program dates and information contact the library.
