After-School Craft Bird Feeder
For Children of All Ages
Celebrate Bird-Feeding Month by making a snack for our flying friends! Join Parker Memorial Library after-school until 4:30 PM on Wednesday, February 18th, for an After-School Birdfeeder Craft. Children of all ages will be given bird seed, peanut butter, and a variety of other materials to construct their own birdfeeder. Call to sign up.
Rope Wrapped Vases Craft Class
For Ages 18 and Up
Spend the evening putting together a new homemade decoration. Parker Memorial Library will host an Adult Craft Night featuring Rope Wrapped Vases for those 18 and up. The event will take place at 6:00 PM on Monday, February 23rd. Call to sign up.
Get Help with Technology
For Ages 18 and Up
Does jumping into new technology seem like a daunting task? Get a little help from a Digital Navigator! Parker Memorial Library will be offering personal help with technology from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 26th. Participants, 18 and up, can be helped with a variety of technological needs, including computers, cellphones, tablets, job applications, and even setting up an email account. Call to schedule an appointment today.
For All Ages
Explore St. Patrick’s Day with science at Parker Memorial Library! Join us after school until 4:30 PM on Wednesday, March 4th, to make your own fluffy leprechaun slime. Children of all ages learn how to make fluffy green slime and hide gold coins, green glitter, and shamrock confetti. Call to sign up.
Reading of the Green Book Sale
With the Friends of Libraries in Murray County
The Friends of Libraries of Murray County will be hosting a “Reading of the Green” Book Sale Monday, March 9th – Friday, March 20th, during library hours. This festive book sale will feature a fun and unique collection of “lucky” books, offering readers of all ages a chance to discover their own reading pot of gold. All ages are welcome to participate. With SOLS
This spring, the Southern Oklahoma Library System is thrilled to announce our participation in Neighborhood Forest's 17th Annual Free Tree Program as part of our Earth Week celebrations from April 19 - 25! Scan the QR code and fill out the online registration form by March 15th. Tree saplings will be delivered to your SOLS branch and will be arranged to get the tree sapling in the hands of your children on or around Earth Day (April 22nd) to pick up. Irish-Inspired Meal
At the Murray County OSU Extension Center Kitchen in Sulphur
Looking for an Irish inspired meal for St. Patrick’s Day? Join Parker Memorial Library for a hearty and delicious demo at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 16th at the Murray County OSU Extension Center Kitchen, 3490 Highway 7 West in Sulphur. With Educator Debbie Sharp of the OSU Extension Office, participants will learn to cook from scratch a one pot meal using cabbage, sausage, and Irish flavors. Adults and teens are welcome to call and sign up for this delightful class.
Booked on a Thursday Book Club
For Ages 18 and Up
Join Parker Memorial Library for “Booked on a Thursday” Book Club at 5:30 PM on Thursday, March 19th. Conversation, fellowship, and refreshments will be centered on popular book titles for adults to discuss. This month's book selection is “Starter Villain” by John Scalzi. Call to sign up.
Line Dancing Exercise Class
For All Ages
Dance straight into to fitness and join Parker Memorial Library for “Line Dancing for Fitness and Fun”. Led by instructor Torrye Chronister, the western-style dance classes will be at 5:30 PM on Tuesdays from February 10th through March 31st. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to call and sign up.
Yoga Class
For All Ages
Want to give yoga a try but don’t know where to start? Join Parker Memorial Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 PM to learn the basics of yoga led by instructor Angela Deen. These classes are open to all ages, and all experience levels are welcome! Classes will run from February 3rd to March 12th. Attendees are encouraged to call and sign up.
Toddler Time
For Ages 3 Years and Younger
Looking for the perfect activity for your young child? Beginning at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 13th, Parker Memorial Library will be hosting Toddler for children ages 3 and younger. Children and their families will sing songs, listen to a story and do a fun craft. Older siblings are welcome to join in the fun! This activity will continue weekly until Tuesday, June 30th.
Yoga Class
For Adults and Seniors
Get ready to energize your winter with an exciting yoga experience at Parker Memorial Library! Join us on Mondays and Fridays at 10:00 AM to learn about basic yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation led by instructor Angela Deen. Classes will run from January 5th to March 13th.
