Alphabet Art
For Kids
Starting Thursday, November 30th, 2023, through Thursday, May 23rd, 2024, each Thursday at 10:30 AM, young learners will embark on a new adventure exploring a different letter of the alphabet. From captivating art projects to engaging storybooks, every session is meticulously crafted to enhance creativity, fine motor skills, and early literacy. One unique feature will be the introduction of each letter’s handshape in American Sign Language (ASL). From A to Z, our program promises an immersive experience that combines fun and learning.
Teen Cooking Class
For Teens 13 and Up
Are you a teenager interested in learning how to cook? If so, you're in luck! Local cook and retired teacher, Candy Fields, is excited to offer a series of cooking classes just for you at Parker Memorial Library. Starting on Tuesday, April 9th, and continuing every Tuesday until April 30th, Candy will be teaching new cooking skills and techniques at 3:30 PM.
Soccer Workshop
With Sulphur Kids Association
Join Parker Memorial Library for a soccer workshop with the Sulphur Kids Association where children will learn basic drills, develop fundamentals, and try a friendly scrimmage. This workshop will be held at the Sulphur Soccer Complex, W 16th Street, and Oklahoma Ave. in Sulphur. Preschool – Kindergarten: Tuesday, May 7th at 6:00 PM, 1st and 2nd Grade: Thursday, May 9th at 6:00 PM, 3rd Grade and Up: Tuesday, May 14th at 6:00 PM.
Chair Yoga
At the Sulphur Veterans Center
Looking for an easy exercise to help improve flexibility? The Southern Oklahoma Library System (SOLS) is hosting a chair yoga for senior citizens with instructor Angela Deen. This 6-week class will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:00 AM at the Sulphur Veterans Center, 304 Fairlane Ave in Sulphur. Classes begin Tuesday, April 2nd, and will continue through Friday, May 10th. To sign up, call the Sulphur Veterans Center at (580) 622-2144.
