Book Club – Davis Public Library

November 11, 2025

Join friends at the Davis Public Library’s book club at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, November 18th. Conversation, fellowship, and refreshments will be centered on popular book titles for adults to discuss. This month’s book, “Shelterwood” by Lisa Wingate will be featured.

In 1990, law enforcement ranger Valerie Boren-Odell arrives at Horsethief Trail National Park to raise her son peacefully. However, a teenage hiker goes missing, and a burial site of three children is found in a cave. With the help of the Choctaw Nation’s Tribal Police, Valerie seeks the truth while facing the land’s deadly legacy. During 1909, eleven-year-old Olive Radley recognizes her stepfather poses a danger to the Choctaw girls in their home. When one girl vanishes, Olive flees with six-year-old Nessa to the Winding Stair Mountains, encountering outlaws and treasure hunters, and forming a group with other struggling children along the way.

Participants are encouraged to check out the book by visiting the Davis Public Library at 209 East Benton in Davis or call (580) 369-2468. The Davis Public Library is a branch of the Southern Oklahoma Library System.
