Join Parker Memorial Library for “Booked on a Thursday” Book Club at 5:30 PM on Thursday, March 19th. Conversation, fellowship, and refreshments will be centered on popular book titles for adults to discuss. This month’s book selection is “Starter Villain” by John Scalzi.
Charlie, a divorced substitute teacher living with his cat, dreams of opening a downtown pub. His life takes a turn when his long-lost uncle Jake leaves him his supervillain business, complete with a volcano lair. But the transition to villainy isn’t easy; Jake’s enemies—wealthy, ruthless foes supported by corporations—are after him. With the help of unionized dolphins, a hyper-intelligent spy cat, and a fierce henchperson, Charlie must fight back. In a dog-eat-dog world, he learns that sometimes, it’s better to be a cat.
