Join Parker Memorial Library for Booked on a Thursday Book Club at 5:30 PM on Thursday, October 22nd. Light refreshments will be provided and spirited discussion encouraged. This month’s book will be Robert Dugoni’s “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell”.
Sam Hell was born with red pupils and called “Devil Boy” by classmates, though his mother saw his condition as “God’s will.” Supported by his parents and two fellow outcasts—Ernie Cantwell and Mickie Kennedy—Sam found friendship and faith. Decades later, now an eye doctor, Sam questions the meaning of his past, especially after a tragedy caused him to leave everything behind. As he reflects and journeys far from home, Sam finally confronts what shaped his life and discovers what truly matters.
