Wilson Public Library invites community members of all ages to a very special event: an exclusive, FREE screening of the highly anticipated adaptation of a beloved book series starring Luke Bracey, Crosby Fitzgerald and more. The screening will take place at 3:00 PM on Monday, August 10th, at the Wilson Public Library, and is open to families and the general public.
Based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved books, this fresh adaptation brings a new life to the classic American story. Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West, the series explores enduring themes of resilience, community, courage, and the pursuit of a better future.
The new series, produced by CBS Studios and Anonymous Content, features showrunner and executive producer Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys, Vampire Diaries, Archive 81). The creative team also includes executive producers Joy Gorman Wettels (Joy Coalition), Trip Friendly (Friendly Family Productions), and Dana Fox. Directors for the series include Sarah Adina Smith, Julie Anne Robinson, Kat Candler, Erica Tremblay, and Sydney Freeland.
This brand remains an enduring staple of American culture, with the original books selling over 73 million copies worldwide and translated into at least 27 languages. Fifty years after the original 1974 television show first aired, the stories continue to captivate new generations, with Nielsen reporting 13.25 billion minutes of viewing in 2024 alone.
