The Champion Public Library is thrilled to partner with PBS KIDS to host a special Family and Community Learning (FCL) event from 5:30 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15th. Families are invited to join this fun-filled evening, designed to spark curiosity and inspire a love of science in children.
The event will feature an engaging episode of the beloved PBS KIDS series DINOSAUR TRAIN. Following the screening, families can participate in an exciting, themed activity, and enjoy snacks provided by the library. This interactive program is tailored for families to learn together and discover the wonders of science and natural history.
DINOSAUR TRAIN is celebrated for igniting children’s interest in life science and natural history. Through captivating stories and colorful characters, the show helps children develop inquiry skills and encourages them to think, talk, and act like paleontologists. The series offers core science knowledge, enabling children to explore the worlds of life science, natural science, and paleontology. It also inspires young learners to visit local science and natural history museums, embark on “fossil hunts,” and conduct their own explorations of the natural world.
Space for this special event is limited, and families are encouraged to sign up early to reserve their spots.
The Summer Reading Program is also supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.
