Strength and Balance Class – Champion Public Library

Ready to embrace a healthier you? Beginning February 4th, join us for a class on Strength and Balance for adults at Champion Public Library. This 6-week course will be instructed by Susan Cowlbeck from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, until March 18th. All exercises will be standing or in a chair, no floorwork required. All equipment is provided but wearing comfortable athletic clothes and shoes is recommended. Attendees are encouraged to call ahead and sign up.

This exercise class is designed to empower seniors to enhance their strength, balance, and flexibility. The movements taught will concentrate on specific exercises to boost strength, stability, and power around the ankle, knee, and hip joints, while enhancing your reaction time. All exercises can be performed with chairs or standing with light weights, exercise bands, and clothes pins to help maintain strength in large and small groups of muscles.

Champion Public Library is offering this program as part of a health literacy grant from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL). The program is funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
