Princess Yona lives a perfect life as the only princess in her kingdom. Loved by her father, the king, and kept safe by her loyal guard Hak, she treasures her time with Su-won, the man she loves. But everything changes on her 16th birthday when disaster hits her family. Yona is shocked after seeing someone she loves killed and must fight to stay alive. With Hak’s help, she escapes the palace and tries to survive while running from her enemies. But where will this princess go when she has nowhere safe to turn?

Age Well: The Power of Nature – Champion Public Library
Join Champion Public Library for a special lecture at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 26th to learn about the power of nature and how it helps boost health and happiness. Join Dr. Catherine Sanderson, author and expert in positive psychology, on exploring how green and blue spaces (like oceans, rivers and lakes) can reduce stress, ease anxiety, improve creativity and even aid physical healing. In this Age Well lecture, attendees learn why even a houseplant or a glimpse of the outdoors matters and will walk away with simple ways to bring more nature into their daily life. This event is free and open to adults and seniors; however, signing up is encouraged. This Zoom lecture event is sponsored by Road Scholar.
Dr. Catherine Sanderson is the Poler Family Professor of Psychology at Amherst College, with degrees from Stanford University and Princeton University. Dr. Sanderson has published over 25 journal articles and book chapters, five college textbooks, and two trade books (“The Positive Shift: Mastering Mindset to Improve Happiness, Health, and Longevity;” “Why We Act: Turning Bystanders into Moral Rebels”). Dr. Sanderson speaks regularly and is passionate about sharing practical science-based strategies people can use to improve their daily lives.
“Most of us know that spending time in nature makes us feel good, but research shows that the benefits are deeper and more far-reaching than what we might expect,” said Reference and Adult Services Librarian, Pam Bean. “Our goal is to help encourage everyone to take a little time outside and enjoy their surroundings.”
This lecture is part of our “Age Well” series, designed to provide valuable insights, expert guidance, and practical tools for navigating the aging journey with confidence. These programs explore key topics related to aging, from health and wellness to planning for the future, offering meaningful perspectives and resources for older adults and caregivers alike.
Champion Public Library is offering this program as part of a health literacy grant from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL). The program is funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
